Who's Behind The Curtain?

Mike and Trevor McCurdy are a father & son duo who have had the opportunity through the years to produce work bound for some of the biggest car shows in the world, seen on television, in magazines and music videos. Both come from an art background and love twentieth century hand skills and artisan products. 

Our vision is to show the new generation how fulfilling it can be to create something tangible with your own hands, that is revered and awed by those who see it. We plan to do this by offering an interesting environment in a collaborative studio where visitors can see that stuffy, dirty blue collar jobs aren't what this is all about. We love what we do and we love being a part of the awesome group of artists at STRAY Wheel Estate Collective in Greenville, SC. 

Stop by Seams Fly and you may see a stunning car, an antique piece of furniture that has new life, a unique hand crafted leather wallet or bag and other eclectic items from the roots of our artisan creativity. Not to mention tons of other eye catching creations and projects throughout the building at STRAY Wheel Estate Collective!

"Hey, wait a minute! I've seen these bozos and several of their pictures before on The Bucket Stitch's Facebook page. What gives?"  -- You're right! We aren't trying to pull your chain. Mike worked with The Bucket Stitch for eight years and designed, sewed and/or installed tons of beautiful interiors. Trevor stitched dozens of wheels, seats, shifters, and helped on critical interior installations. Although our examples were not produced this year officially as Seams Fly, our handiwork is in examples we post on our site or promotional materials. We're all still producing great work and will continue to work together as partners in our industry, as all craft industries who hope to survive should. We encourage you to research and contact any reputable shop that you think will fit your needs, and do what works for you.
